Privacy Sandbox
Privacy Sandbox is Google's set of web standards intended to support advertising use cases like targeting and measurement without third-party cookies or cross-site tracking of individuals. It aims to replace some cookie-based functions with more privacy-preserving APIs in Chrome.
The initiative proposes browser-level APIs that deliver aggregate or interest-based capabilities while limiting individual cross-site identification.
Its scope and timeline have shifted over time, including changes to Google's plans for third-party cookies in Chrome. Either way, the durable strategy remains investing in owned first-party data.
