Second-Party Data

Second-party data is another company's first-party data, shared or sold directly to you through a trusted partnership rather than an anonymous marketplace. Because it started as someone's firsthand data, it is usually more accurate and transparent than pooled third-party data.

Second-party data changes hands directly between two known parties under a clear agreement. A travel brand and a hotel chain sharing audience data for a co-marketing campaign is a classic example.

It can extend your reach into audiences that resemble your best customers, but it is only as clean as the consent and contract behind it. The partner must have collected it with permission that allows sharing, and your contract must define how you may use it.
