Householding

Householding is the practice of grouping individual customer profiles that belong to the same household, based on shared address or family relationships. It helps businesses understand and serve customers at the household level, not just as isolated individuals.

Householding matters where buying decisions are shared, such as retail, financial services, and insurance, where treating two people as one household improves relevance and avoids duplicate outreach.

It is a specialized form of identity resolution that links people rather than just a person's own identifiers, and it must respect privacy expectations about combining individuals.
